Sengphachan Khammeunsot joined SCL LAW OFFICES LIMITED in 2013. Prior to this, she worked in PricewaterhouseCooper’s (PwC) tax and legal services department for several years, where she was involved in conducting research on investment law for various clients; and she has wide experience on corporate and commercial issues. Moreover, she has also been involved in drafting contracts and agreements, and has acted as the notary for those documents. Sengphachan Khammeunsot also has experience with regard to the process of setting up a branch of a commercial bank in Lao PDR, and has negotiated on behalf of clients with the government. Before commencing her legal career, she previously worked as a trainee at the Ministry of Planning and Investment.

Sengphachan Khammeunsot is a professional lawyer with excellent academic standing. She currently supports communication with clients, conducting extensive research of laws for advising to clients; she also prepares all required documents for setting up a company and/or a representative office. Moreover, she is involved with registration and amendment of corporate licences, as well as the translation of certificates and related documents for clients; from English to Lao and Lao to English. Sengphachan Khammeunsot also prepares letters to the government, drafts Articles of Association, internal regulations, some contracts and agreements, as well as acts as the notary for those documents. In addition, she is involved in advising both foreign companies and local companies in establishing business operations in order to ensure the implementation of law compliance. She has served clients in various business fields, including trading, transportation, restaurants, banking, importation, manufacturing and insurance. She has worked on the process of capital remittance, opened bank accounts with commercial banks for clients, assisted in the process of setting up branches of a commercial bank in Lao PDR, as well as contacted and coordinated with the government on numerous matters. Furthermore, she is also responsible for Intellectual Property issues, such as trademark and patent issues.
